Big Update: Runtime Environments, Smarter App Previews, and Improved Workflow Flexibility​

This release introduces major improvements to workflow environments, App Builder usability, and connections. From running workflows against different environments to previewing apps on different devices, these updates make the platform more flexible and easier to work with.

New features​

Advanced Runtime Environment Configuration​

Workflows can now use a different connection for each environment (for example test and production). The right connection is picked automatically when the workflow runs. This works across M3, Transform, and REST API steps.

Device Preview Emulator​

Preview your app in desktop, tablet, and mobile layouts directly inside App Builder. You can save your own custom devices for later sessions, and rotate mobile and tablet previews.

Improvements​

Runtime environments​

  • Environment selector: When you run a workflow that uses environments, you can now choose which environment to run it in.
  • Connections in expressions: You can refer to a connection by its alias when writing expressions.
  • Suggestions while typing: The expression editor suggests the available environment connections and variables as you type.
  • M3 Workflow Builder: Workflows created with the M3 Workflow Builder now support environments and pick the right connection automatically.

App Builder​

  • Redesigned build and preview: Cleaner build and preview layouts with an improved prompt input. A new split save button lets you save and keep building, or save and exit Build Mode. The version selector now shows each version's state, creation date, and author.
  • Sign out from apps: Apps can sign the user out and send them back to the sign-in page.
  • Environment choice in apps: Apps can tell a workflow which environment to run in, so one app can serve both test and production.

Workflows​

  • Inactive workflow indicator: Inactive workflows appear muted with an "Inactive" label in the workflow list.
  • Activation feedback: Activating or deactivating a workflow shows a confirmation message.

Administration and connections​

  • Edit identity providers: Existing single sign-on (SSO) identity providers can now be edited from the company settings page, in addition to being created or removed.
  • New connection types: Added LN (for Infor LN) and Vince Live (to connect separate Vince Live instances).
  • Alphabetical sorting: Connection systems are listed alphabetically.

Fixed​

  • Excel tooltip: Excel mapping information is shown in full without adding extra horizontal scrolling to the page.
  • Admin access display: Users with admin-level permissions now show "FULL ACCESS" instead of a count of individual roles.
