Webhooks
Webhooks create inbound HTTP endpoints that external systems can call to trigger a workflow in Vince Platform. When an external system sends a request to a webhook URL, the linked workflow runs automatically.
The webhooks list
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | Display name of the webhook |
| Description | Optional description of what triggers the webhook and from which system |
| Workflow | The workflow that runs when the webhook receives a request |
| Active | Whether the webhook is currently accepting requests |
| Actions | View, edit, deactivate, or delete the webhook |
Invalid workflow tag
If the workflow linked to a webhook is deleted or becomes unavailable, the webhook shows an Invalid workflow tag. Requests sent to the webhook URL will fail until the webhook is updated to point to a valid workflow.
Creating a webhook
- Go to Administration → Integrations → Webhooks.
- Click + New Webhook.
- Fill in the required fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Name | A descriptive name for this webhook |
| Workflow | The workflow to trigger when a request is received |
| Description | Optional — describe the source system and what event triggers this webhook |
- Click Save.
You can also create and manage a workflow's webhooks from the Webhook tab of its Trigger step — see Webhook Trigger.
After saving, the platform generates a unique webhook URL. Copy this URL and configure it in the external system that will be sending requests.
Managing webhooks
Use the ⋮ menu on a webhook row to access management actions:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| View | Open the webhook details and copy its URL |
| Edit | Update the name, linked workflow, or description |
| Deactivate | Stop the webhook from accepting requests without deleting it |
| Delete | Permanently remove the webhook — the URL becomes invalid immediately |
Deactivating vs. deleting
Deactivate a webhook when you need to temporarily stop incoming triggers — for example, during a maintenance window or when the linked workflow is being updated. Requests sent to a deactivated webhook are rejected. Reactivate it at any time from the same menu.
Delete a webhook only when it is no longer needed. Deletion is permanent — configure the external system to stop sending requests to the old URL before deleting.
