Audit Log
The audit log records every user action across Vince Platform, creating a traceable history for governance, compliance, and incident investigation. Each entry shows who performed an action, what they acted on, and when.
The audit log covers changes to the platform itself, such as users, roles, workflows and apps. It does not record changes to the data inside your tables, for example a record edited in an app. To keep a history of those, see Audit log for your app.
Go to Administration → Company Management → Audit Log to access the log.
Filtering the log
Three filters help narrow the log to the events you are looking for:
| Filter | What it does |
|---|---|
| Entity | Multi-select dropdown to limit results to one or more object types, grouped under Platform and AI Apps (see below) |
| Date Range | Start and end date selectors to focus on a specific time window |
| Search | Keyword filter applied across names and details in all visible entries |
Click Apply to run the filtered view. Click Reset to clear all filters and return to the full log.
Entity groups
The Entity dropdown groups the object types, and you can select several at once:
| Group | Entities |
|---|---|
| Platform | Users, Roles, Connections, Environments, Workflows |
| AI Apps | Application, App Version, App Resource, Role Assignment, MCP Server, Tenant Prompt |
AI Apps activity
Changes made in App Builder are recorded in the same log. Select the entities in the AI Apps group to see only that activity. Each one is logged when it is created, updated or deleted:
| Entity | What is recorded |
|---|---|
| Application | The app itself, such as its name and description |
| App Version | Versions of an app, including state changes such as publishing or archiving, role changes on a version and changes to its external references |
| App Resource | The workflows and tables connected to an app |
| Role Assignment | Who is assigned to an app's in-app roles; updates show how many assignments were added and removed |
| MCP Server | Changes to the MCP servers set up for AI Apps |
| Tenant Prompt | Changes to the organisation-wide standing instructions applied to every app build |
Use View Changes on an entry to see exactly what was changed, for example which version was published or which assignments were added.
To investigate one app, select Application, App Version and App Resource together and use Search to type the app's name.
Log table columns
| Column | Description |
|---|---|
| User Name | Who performed the action |
| Timestamp | When the action occurred |
| Entity | The type of object that was affected |
| Name | The specific item that was changed |
| Action | What was done — Created, Updated or Deleted |
| Details | A short description of the change |
Viewing change details
Click the expand arrow on any log row to see:
- Full user name and modification timestamp
- A summary of what changed
- A View Changes button
View Changes opens a colour-coded diff view of the record before and after the action:
| Colour | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Red | Removed or previous content |
| Green | Added or updated content |
Use this view to understand exactly what was modified — for example, which fields on a workflow changed, or what permissions were added to a role.
Common use cases
- Compliance auditing — demonstrate to auditors that access changes and data modifications are fully tracked
- Incident investigation — identify who made a change that caused an unexpected behaviour, and when it was made
- Offboarding review — confirm that a departing user's access was removed completely and at the right time
When investigating an incident, apply the Date Range filter first to narrow the log to the relevant window, then use the Entity filter to focus on the specific object type. This combination significantly reduces the volume of entries to review.
