VXL Live Components

These are the VXL Live components. You build them in the Vince Platform workflow editor, and they are used from VXL Live, the Excel add-in that lets people load, update and write back data from a spreadsheet. Each component is documented in the VXL Live section.

A VXL Live workflow usually has these steps in this order: Trigger → M3 API or M3 Fetch → M3 Filter (optional) → Excel.

A user in Excel clicks Run. The VXL Live add-in sends the sheet data to the workflow, the workflow reads or updates data in Infor M3 with an M3 API or M3 Fetch step, and the results and messages are written back into the same sheet.

To let users work with several related workflows from one place in the add-in, put them in a Workflow Group.

The components:

  • M3 API: call Infor M3 API transactions to import or export data.
  • M3 Fetch: read data from Infor M3, for example to fill in a lookup.
  • M3 Filter: filter M3 output before it moves on.
  • Generic Filter: filter the incoming spreadsheet rows before they are sent to M3, for example only the rows marked for import.
  • Excel: map workflow data to and from an Excel sheet.
  • Table: write workflow output into a Vince Platform custom table.
  • Lookup Workflows: let users pick values from another workflow when they run a workflow.
