Create a Connection
Connections store the credentials and endpoint details Vince Platform uses to communicate with external systems. You set one up once, and workflows can then reference it whenever they need to interact with that system.
Go to Administration → Integrations → Connections and click + New Connection to get started.
Common fields
These fields appear on every connection regardless of authentication type:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Connection Name | A unique name for internal reference |
| Alias | Optional alternative identifier |
| Description | Notes on purpose or usage |
| System | The external system type (M3, Azure, Salesforce, Other) |
| Authentication Type | How the connection authenticates — see Authorization Types |
| Protocol | HTTP or HTTPS |
| Environment | Select an existing environment or create a new one |
| Base URI | The base endpoint URL of the external system |
Additional options
These options are available on all connections:
- Autofill from File — pre-populate fields from a certificate or configuration file
- Ignore Certificate Errors — bypass SSL validation if required by the external system
- Use Static IP — enable when the external system requires requests to come from a fixed IP address (shown as Use Dedicated IP if your tenant has Dedicated IP enabled). See Static IP for how this works, the shared IP addresses, and the Dedicated IP option.
Choosing an authentication type
The fields required after the common fields above depend on the authentication type you select. See Authorization Types for a full breakdown of OAuth 2.0, Basic, and API Key options.
Saving and validating
After filling in all required fields, click Save. Once saved, use the ⋮ actions menu on the connection and select Validate Connection to confirm everything is working before using it in a workflow.
