Outbound Document Flow (BOD to Workflow)

A Document Flow in ION Desk defines the path a Business Object Document (BOD) takes from M3 through to Vince Platform. Once activated, it will automatically trigger your Vince Platform workflow whenever the relevant BOD is generated in M3.

Prerequisites​

  • A configured ION Connection Point — see Configure Connection Point
  • The relevant BOD added as a valid document in that Connection Point

Step-by-step guide​

  1. Go to ION Desk → Connect → Data Flows.

  2. Click ➕ Add and select Document Flow.

  3. Give the Document Flow a descriptive name.

  4. Add an Application step between the Start and End nodes:

    • Name it M3
    • Click ➕ and select M3 IMS Connector, then click OK

  5. Click the document icon to the right of the M3 step and add the BOD document you want to pass to Vince Platform.

  6. Add an API step after the M3 application step and select the ION API Connector — this should match the name you gave your Authorized API in the Configure API Connection guide.

  7. Click Save.

  8. Go back to the overview, find your Document Flow, and click Activate to enable it.

tip

Once activated, the Connection Point linked to this flow will also move from Inactive to Active status.

What's next​

Your ION integration is now fully configured. BODs from M3 will be routed through the Document Flow and trigger the corresponding Vince Platform workflow automatically.

If you need to adjust the workflow being triggered, update the workflowId in the Connection Point's Request Parameters.
