Configure Connection Point
A Connection Point in ION Desk defines how ION communicates with an external system — in this case, Vince Platform. It must be configured before you can set up a Document Flow.
Prerequisites
- A service account created in IFS — see Configure Service Account
- Vince Platform registered as an available API in ION — see Configure API Connection
Step-by-step guide
-
Go to ION Desk → Connect → Connection Points.
-
Click ➕ Add and select API.
-
Give the connection point a name, then click IMPORT to upload the service account CSV file you downloaded earlier.
-
Go to the Documents tab and click ➕ to add an API transaction:
- Set the Scenario to
Send to API - Select the document (BOD) you want to use in the transaction
- Set the Scenario to
-
Go to the ION API tab:
- Enter a Call Name
- Click Select, then search for and select the relevant Vince Platform endpoint
- Click OK
-
Go to the Request Parameters tab and enter the relevant values. For a workflow endpoint, this is typically the
workflowId. -
Go to the Request Body tab and select the outgoing format. For a workflow endpoint, this is typically
JSON from BOD. -
Click Save.
A newly created Connection Point will show as Inactive until it is used in an activated Document Flow. This is expected — it becomes active once the flow is set up and activated in the next step.
Next step
Continue to Outbound Document Flow.
