Configure Service Account

Service accounts in ION are used internally by ION Connection Points to authenticate and call ION APIs. You need to create one before setting up a Connection Point.

IFS (Infor Federation Services) is Infor's identity and user administration area — it's where service accounts and their permissions are managed.

For more detail on service accounts, refer to the Infor Ming.le documentation.

Prerequisites

  • An existing IFS user with permission to call ION APIs

Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to IFS in Infor OS:

    • Old UI: User Menu → User Management
    • New UI: Menu → OS → Security
  2. Click the waffle icon on the left and open Service Accounts.

  3. Click ➕ to create a new service account.

  4. Enter a description for the service account, then link an IFS user to it.

  5. Click the disk icon to save.

When you save for the first time, you will be prompted to download the service account credentials. This is the only opportunity to download them — store the file somewhere safe before proceeding.

Next step

Continue to Configure Connection Point.
