Standard Deployment
VXL Live can be deployed through two recommended methods: the Microsoft Marketplace (simplest) or the M365 Admin Center using a manifest URL (for organisations that restrict Store access). Both support centrally managed, organisation-wide rollout.
Option 1 — Microsoft Marketplace (recommended)
Admin deployment via Marketplace
- Open Microsoft 365 Admin Center.
- Go to Settings → Integrated apps.
- Click Get apps.
- Search for VXL Live.
- Follow the guided deployment steps.
- Select the deployment scope — specific users, groups, or the entire organisation.
User self-installation via Excel Store
If your IT policy permits Store access, users can install VXL Live themselves without administrator involvement:
- Open Excel.
- Go to Insert → Get Add-ins.
- Search for VXL Live.
- Click Add.
Option 2 — M365 Admin Center (manifest-based)
Use this method if your organisation restricts access to the Microsoft Store.
Manifest URLs
| Environment | Manifest URL |
|---|---|
| Production | https://vxl.vince.live/manifest.prod.xml |
| Staging | https://vxl.vince.live/manifest.staging.xml |
Deployment steps
- Go to admin.microsoft.com.
- Navigate to Settings → Integrated apps.
- Click Upload custom app.
- Select Office Add-in.
- Enter the manifest URL for the environment you are deploying (from the table above).
- Click Validate.
- Select the target users or groups.
- Complete the guided setup.
User setup after admin deployment
Once the admin has deployed the add-in, users may need to load it manually in Excel the first time:
- Open Excel.
- Go to Insert → My Add-ins.
- Select the Admin Managed tab.
- Click Refresh if VXL Live does not appear.
- Select VXL Live and click Add.
- Open VXL Live from Excel's Home tab (the ribbon at the top of Excel): click VXL Live in the Vince group.
- On first launch, enter the tenant alias provided to you; see Getting Started.
tip
If a user needs access to both staging and production environments, both can be deployed simultaneously. Each appears as a separate entry in the Admin Managed tab.
