Getting Started

Before you can use VXL Live, the add-in must be installed (see Installation) and your account must exist in Vince Platform. On first launch you will be asked for your tenant name — your organisation's unique identifier in the Vince system, provided in your welcome email.

Opening VXL Live

In Excel, go to the Home tab on the ribbon at the top of the Excel window and click VXL Live in the Vince group. The VXL Live panel opens next to your sheet.

If the button is missing, the add-in is not installed for you yet; see Installation.

Signing in

Step 1 — Enter your tenant name

On the welcome screen, enter the tenant name from your Vince Platform welcome email and press Enter (or click the arrow). VXL Live checks that the tenant exists; if it does not, it shows Invalid Tenant.

VXL Live remembers your tenant, so you only enter it once. To change it, click the pencil icon next to the tenant name. If you have used more than one tenant, you can pick one from a list.

Step 2 — Sign in

You sign in with your Vince Platform account, and the sign-in options are the same as in Vince Platform:

  • Single sign-on: if your organisation has set it up, click your organisation's sign-in button, for example Microsoft 365 or Okta, and sign in in the window that opens. You are returned to VXL Live afterwards.
  • Email and password: enter them under the sign-in buttons.

If your administrator has enforced single sign-on, only the sign-in buttons are shown, with the message to select a single sign-on provider.

tip

If your organisation uses single sign-on, use it. It removes the need to manage a separate password and applies your organisation's existing security policies.

Resetting a forgotten password

If you use email and password and have forgotten your password:

  1. Click Forgot Password on the login screen.
  2. Enter your username and click Send Code — a verification code is sent to your email address.
  3. Enter the verification code, then enter and confirm your new password.
  4. Click the eye icon next to either password field to reveal the text and check for typos.
  5. Sign in with the new password on VXL Live or Vince Platform.
